Welcome to Brookings

A nature-filled community set apart from the bustle

A laid-back small town, Brookings is full of expansive nature, fun community events and a temperate climate. With miles of incredible coastline and pristine beaches, Brooking is the epitome of a coastal beach town. Residents spend their days hiking or taking their boats out from the harbor.

Brookings began in the early 20th century as a redwood logging town. It remained a lumber town for decades, but the industry flagged after World War I. In the second half of the 20th century, Highway 101 was built, and the resulting tourist economy revitalized this quaint town. Today, the thriving community is renowned for its outdoor adventures and friendly atmosphere.
