Welcome to Bandon

A historic coastal destination full of small-town charm

This charming town is a destination worth the drive it takes to get here. It rocks gorgeous ocean views, jaw-dropping sunsets, and a long history of industry and community. Residents and visitors alike enjoy the gentle climate and outdoor activities both on and off the waterfront. The town is thick with tradition — it’s home to the longest-running festival on the Oregon Coast and local businesses that have been pillars of the community for decades. Bandon is the type of place that prioritizes community and quality of life.

Known as the “Cranberry Capital of Oregon,” Bandon’s first industries were a sawmill and a cheese-making endeavor, but the early residents quickly realized that the temperate climate and soil here made for perfect cranberry-growing conditions. One thousand six hundred acres of cranberries grow in the land around Bandon, and around 5 percent of the nation’s cranberries come directly from this small coastal town.

Though it is a small town, Bandon offers the best of both worlds regarding businesses. It is large enough to support local businesses as well as several chain stores for everyday essentials. With fresh air and abundant activities, living in Bandon feels like being on a perpetual vacation.
